I hope everyone is enjoying their Christmas break!!!! Wherever you are I hope you enjoying your friends and family and taking a moment and enjoying this down time. I am in the middle of my Southern Tour- Birmingham off to Athens, GA then to my hometown of Thomasville. I LOVE a Southern Christmas! Let’s get to “Make It Work!”
The other day I bought a denim shirt. It kinda of startled myself. Years ago a denim shirt was as outdated as MC Hammer pants. But you know trends- they are always changing. I’ve been experimenting how to wear it and let me tell you what- it might be one of my favorite items in my closet (well for this week!) Let me show you a couple of ways to rock a denim shirt if you aren’t on the bandwagon yet!
***
LAYERING
This is perfect for this season. You see just a hint of the shirt- more of an accent. And for me denim and white go hand in hand. I’m dying with how fabulous it looks with these leopard pumps!
DEEP V AND SKINNY JEAN
Nothing makes me happier than a low neck/unbuttoned shirt. Effortless. Add a pair of skinnies and heels and this is an instant sex kitten look!
FITTED AND FORMAL
This is done beautifully. Slim Fit shirt belted with a leather shirt which is classy and über chic.
CANADIAN TUXEDO
I’m usually not a fan of denim on denim but this is done perfectly. If you are going to try this look make sure your shades are extreme. Light vs Dark. It will give the look depth and sophistication.
PAIRED WITH COLORED PANTS
I like this look because the shirt fades away. The focal point is the pants. LOVE!
DIY DENIM
There is a million things you can do with a shirt. From studding, to cutouts, to tie dying. Here’s a cool idea- cutout shoulders to jazz up this causal shirt.
THE TIE
I love a tied shirt because it instantly gives you a waist. It is used almost as a jacket or a shawl compared to a shirt.
PAIRED WITH A STATEMENT NECKLACE
Use your costume all the time! This look makes me oh so happy!
PAIRED WITH PRINTS
Just like with the pop colored pants the shirt fades away and compliments the print you are wearing. I will absolutely do this next.
Here I am in Alabama. I paired my denim shirt with bright yellow pants, my “L” initialed leopard belt and several necklaces and bracelets. If I go out tonight I’ll add some costume jewelry and throw my hair in a messy high pony.
Will you try this trend? I’m taking the week off to celebrate my friends and family but I’ll see you back next week to list my top 10 Special Moments for me and my blog on the JANUARY 1ST 2013! WHOOO HOOOOO Lots to celebrate!!!!!
xoxo, Loftiss
