I had the absolute pleasure of attending the Victoria’s Secret Angels Spa Party on Tuesday. I have to say these three models are completely personable. I had a blast chatting with Adriana and Lily about their daughters. Only I would chat about ballet for  toddlers with Supermodels! Mani, pedis and massages were offered. Also complimentary hair and makeup by the VS experts. It was truly a fun time. Let me show you!

Has this ever happened, you open an eye shadow and it’s disintegrated into small pieces?

I always thought I had 2 options, pour the loose shadow into a small container or throw it away. Neither one of those options were very appealing until I discovered this…you can re-solidify your shadows.

Using rubbing alcohol fill the metal container 3/4 high (I prefer 99% or 91% should be fine).

Don’t over fill it., you can always add more alcohol if it’s not full enough.

Gently press the shadow with a Q tip mixing the shadow and alcohol together.

Make sure the shadow is completely saturated with alcohol even if it means breaking the chunks of eye shadow into smaller pieces.

The eye shadow should be completely saturated.

Lift the container and gently tap it against the counter. You should see small bubbles being forced to the surface as the alcohol/eye shadow mixture settles back into the container.

Let the eye shadow container sit open so the alcohol can evaporate.

VIOLA!

Amazing that with a little alcohol an eyeshadow can go from this to this!

Ahhhhhhh can you even handle it?!?!?! I am so mad at all of the hundreds of shadows I’ve thrown away.  Just confirmed- this DOES work for blush!!!!! I can not wait to try this trick.

From an early age, I loved using make up to express myself, so it was simply a natural progression that I chose to be a Make Up Artist. I worked for Clarins, Clinique, and MAC Cosmetics before moving to Los Angeles to attend the Joe Blasco Make Up Center. Winged Eye

I mean you reallllllly can’t go wrong with a winged eye. The focus of your makeup should be on your eyes so this is perfect. I suggest practicing and having a test run with your makeup artist. There are so many levels for a cat eye and you want to capture the right size for your face .

Red Lip

Now I really like this look. Especially if you are going for an Old Hollywood, Vintage and 1950′s feel the red lip is necessary. Just be sure that the lipstick is kiss proof! You don’t want to make a mess out of your man during the ceremony or reception!

Bronzed

Now we all know how I feel about bronzer. It’s my everything. I think a golden eye and highlighted cheeks is breathtaking. HINT: Watch the color bronzer you use. Make sure it feels goldish vs pink, rust, or dirty brown. Ask a professional {even at a makeup counter} to get your perfect shade.

Pink

On the right skin tone this look is breathtaking. The color pink wears well on all skin types. Feel free to use pink eyeshadow to compliment your blush and lipstick. Remember to blend blend blend!

Smokey Eye

If done right a smokey eye can spice up your “good girl” look. I suggest doing a smokey eye first, foundation then bronzer/blush. Last thing on your makeup process – under eye concealer.

Dewey Skin

Dewey skin is a MUST for this day. You don’t want to look matte and completely made up. You want to glow and be almost angelic. I suggest Stila’s All Over Shimmer

Colored Eye

This would take a special person to pull this off but it CAN be done. If you are going exotic and festive go for it! It can be absolutely beautiful if done right.

False Lashes

Yes I know her marriage didn’t last but you have to admit her glam squad does a banging job! What is so special about this look is the effortless lashes. They look light as a feather with a drop of mascara. Not overly done and pulling your focus right to the eyes.

How I would fix these brides

Now I am all about a colored liner and a red lip but you can’t do BOTH! Pick one ladies

This bride looks like an Ice Princess. It’s not inviting at all. I would suggest to warm up the makeup. Switch the lipstick to a more rosey color and add brown to the eye shadow.

This bride ALMOST had it perfect. I feel she needs some gloss to her lips. She almost looks like a painting. You want to look glowing and happy and with a quick swipe of shimmery gloss, she will shine!

This bride is sooo lovely but missing three important things. First she looks too matte. I want to add some shimmer and shine to her face to brighten and highlight. Next add a pop of color to her cheeks. Finally she is in desperate need of some under eye coverage. We all need help in this area and with some lighter undereye concealer, she would be look rested and ready to party!

Ok. Now wait.

I know I’m only doing makeup right now but I had to say something about this. Girlfriend you are not fooling anyone. It is very obvious that you are wearing a belt around your head. I am all about being original and taking risks but this one didn’t work. If you had put it on a hair clip or a headband I could get on board. So close.

I had the great pleasure again to write a style article for the Thomasville Scene Magazine. I love how I have the freedom to write whatever I want to write about. Since I knew this was the Fashion Issue I thought it was imperative to share my thoughts on Spring Trends. Fashion Week in New York is always so glamourous but that entire week you see trends that will be popular 5 months. It’s always fun to see what is “in” now and go fill your closet with those last items needed to be ready for the season you are in. Here is my take on Spring trends that are hawt…NOW!!!!

SPRING TRENDS TO WEAR NOW!!!!!

We have shed the extra layers of clothes and now we want to celebrate. Spring has sprung my friends! What I love most about Spring and Summer fashion is the extremes. It’s about vibrant colors, exciting prints, tons of accessories and adding anything to your wardrobe that makes you happy. Here’s my list of must haves that will add color and joy into your life!

1. Geometric Print Dress

This print is a show stopper no matter where you go. Office, After Dinner
Drinks, Weekend, Vacations- this print is winner!

2. Romantic Floral Sundress

Throw a bit of romance in your wardrobe by adding a floral dress perfect
for a chill weekend. Feel free to throw a pastel shrug on top if you want
to wear to church or a more conservative occasion.

3. Statement Pants

Make a statement with your pants! Now that colored jeans are all the rage
it’s easy to add colored jeans and dress pants into the mix. GO BOLD!

4. Color blocking

YES! COLOR BLOCKING IS HERE TO STAY!!! You really can’t mess up this
trend. Mix and match bright colors to create a fiesta on your body!

5. All White

For the complete opposite of bright colors- go for all white. There is
something so calming and chic about wearing white from head to toe. Even
though this look is commonly seen at the beach, I invite you to rock this
trend around town. pssst- it will make your tan pop too.

6. Wedge shoes

Who wants to wear high heels when you can wear wedges! Wedges are a staple
for Spring and much more comfortable than any heel. Great for barbecues
and date night!

7. Bright colored Blazers

Trade out your brown and black blazer for a gorgeous color! It will make
you look rested and and the pop of color will invigorate you making you
ready to tackle the world. It’s the new power suit!

8. Denim

Denim will always be a staple for Spring. Play with portions and don’t be
scared to cut off your favorite jeans and make them your new favorite
capris or shorts.

9. Maxi Shirt

A carefree long skirt looks effortless. This trend is flattering for any
age and always a home run.

10. Big Sunglasses

Be your own movie star with huge rimmed sunglasses. Not only are they
functional…they are fabulous.

11. Floppy Hat

Protect your face with a floppy hat. This is another look used a lot at
the beach but is perfect for a lunch date around town. It is functional
and fun!

12. Layering Jewelry

Spring is all about extremes….PILE ON THE JEWELRY!!!! The more the
merrier I say.

13. Adorable Carry-all Tote

Since you are running all around town, why not look stylish while doing
it. Grab yourself a bright colored tote that makes you happy every time
you see it. If you have to lug your life in one big bag, it should at
least be colorful!

14. Personalized Phone Case

My personalized phone case has my initals on it and makes me smile every
time I look down at it. Pump up your style a few notches by adding some
pizzaz to your phone.

The Benefits:

Face:  My skin has the tendency to break out. I have to be very careful what I put on my face. I spray mine right after the shower, before I put on my makeup and right before hopping into bed. It refreshes my skin and brings color to my face.  It has been a god sent while traveling. I HATE wearing makeup when I fly so spraying this right before I jump on a plane gives my skin moisture without clogging my pores. Since it helps in the maintaining the pH balance of the skin, it provides calming effect on acne and eczema. You can also buy it with glycerin making it a  brilliant skin toner. I use both. Combined with glycerin it is the perfect thing to put on your face before working out. PLUS if you just need an extra jolt during the day, spray this on your face and it won’t mess up your makeup. Score!

Skin: It can also heal sunburn, wounds, and soothes insect bites.

Hair: All you girls that want extensions- forget that! Rose water improves blood circulation and promotes hair growth. Plus it helps controlling dandruff!

Eyes:  Rose water is very effective in soothing tired and fatigued eyes. Soak cotton balls and leave on closed eyes for 5-10 mins and see the your tired little eyes brighten up!

Teeth: Now this is crazy. There are number of dental problems that can be cured with the help of rose water. It can provide relief from inflammation and gum problems. It can also strengthen teeth and provide relief against gum pains. If you are suffering  with bad odor and foul breath, rose water can help you get rid of it. WHAT!!!!!! {Umm we should make rosewater breath mints ya’ll!}

Stress: The fragrance of roses is a very effective de-stressor and helps to release stress instantly. Ever realize that it’s Rose water and rose oils are used in spas and aroma therapy ?!?!  It instantly puts you in a good mood and is there to help fight your stress. We ALLLLL need that in our lives.
